BASF Fendona SC Insecticide

• This is a suspension concentrate (SC) formulation containing alpha-cypermethrin, a potent synthetic pyrethroid insecticide. 

• The Fendona® 6 SC version includes 60 g/L of alpha-cypermethrin and is commonly available in 1 L containers 

• It is designed for broad-spectrum control of various pests such as mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches, bedbugs, fleas, silverfish, and more—making it suitable for domestic, industrial, food processing, and agricultural settings.

• Known for quick knockdown and effective residual activity, it provides lasting control, sometimes up to 3 months or more depending on conditions. 

• Fendona SC is water-based, which makes it non-staining, low-odor, and suitable for use on surfaces like brick, concrete, masonry, or walls in sensitive areas like kitchens and food prep zones. 

Safety and Handling

• According to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) dated January 28, 2025 (printed August 8, 2025):

  • Hazardous to aquatic environments—very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. 

  • Requires careful personal protection when handling—gloves, eye protection, and possibly full-body coverage are recommended. 

  • For storage: keep away from heat and sunlight, between 0 °C and 40 °C, and stable for up to 36 months in those conditions. 

  • In case of spills or accidental contact, follow specified containment and clean-up procedures to protect both health and environment. 

Usage & Application

• Fendona 6 SC dilutes easily and can be sprayed using standard sprayers; it delivers a coarse spray and adheres well to various surfaces for effective control. Under proper use, people and pets may re-enter treated areas once surfaces are dry. 

• In certain formulations, even food-processing zones are permissible application areas, subject to local regulations and proper label instructions. 

• The product is particularly valued for malaria vector control due to its effectiveness, residual activity, and safety profile. 

• The usual dose is approximately 25 mL of Fendona 6 SC per 5 L of water, which treats up to 100 m², equating to around 1 L treating up to 4,000 m²—depending on pest load and conditions.
